John Lennon

                                         Birth Date and Place
John Winston Lennon was born on October 9th 1940 at Oxford St Maternity Hospital. While John was being delivered bombs were dropping left and right because of world war 2. Johns mother Julia had been married to Freddie, who was in the military, Freddie was on leave when John was being born. Mimi, Julia's sister, took over for her when Julia was recovering from having John since Freddie wasn't around. During that time Julia had lost touch with Freddie, as far as they knew he had been killed while being on deployment. As John got older another man came into his life, his mother's new boyfriend, who was also named John. Not too much longer into Julia starting over Freddie came back into the picture he was assuming things would be just as he left them little did he know they would be quite different. Throughout this time in his life he was thrown around quite a bit going back and forth between parents and Aunt.

                             Family Members
Johns only family was his Mother Julia who was always apart of his life including his two sisters, his Aunt Mimi and Uncle George who raised him they didnt have children. Johns father wasnt always
there he came back and forth into John's life. He had a son from a former girlfriend in his college years. He eventually got married in his later life to a woman named Yoko and was married to her until he was killed.

               Childhood and School Life

John spent most of his childhood playing with the boys in his neighborhood, during his younger age he was living with his Aunt Mimi and Uncle George, in their neighborhood Pete Shotten was his best friend they were best friends all through their teen years. The boys started their own little club with all the younger kids, Lennon and Shotten started calling eachother Shennon and Lotten as a joke and it stuck for a long time. They always got into some kind of trouble their most famous ideas was to tie a rope to a tall tree that ran along the street and everytime a bus would come by they would swing out towards the bus and scare the people the drivers eventually caught on to the boys and their jokes. The Strawberry Feilds was another place John loved to go it was the local orphanage they always had music events or carnivals there. John
was always so excited to go see what was new. The boys eventually formed a band, they called  themselves The Quarry Men the only things they had to use for instruments was household items once they grew up a bit more they started playing at the Strawberry Feilds when they had concerts. When John was about 6 his father came back into his life and they lived together for not that long then he realized he didnt want to live with him so he moved back in with his Aunt and Uncle. He did stay with his mother but not untill he was about 13 or so.
His school life in the beginning was very normal all of his teachers always had good things to say, up into his high school career thats when he started getting the reports that he wasnt doing well and a disruption in class and wasnt ever going anywhere. John knew what he wanted to do in life and doing actual school work wasnt it. Music was all he wanted.

                                     Hobbies and Activities
Music was Johns only true hobby besides causing trouble growing up. When he was in high school he was a writer in his school newspaper he always had some kind of controversy to cause. Everyone always looked forward to Johns next article. But music was always his main goal. On his downtime he liked to just hang out with the guys and joke around, once the Beatles formed his
favorite pass time with them was coming up with new lyrics. But after the Beatles had broken up John mainly enjoyed spending time with his wife Yoko they eventually wrote their own music together. He also enjoyed having his solo contract later on as well.

                                            Anecdotes
John always had to “make the show” by doing something crazy to attract the audience and keep them wanting more. Before the Beatles became the Beatles we know today, it was only John, Pete and Paul. John would run around on stage and yell out random things and get the crowd to join in with him and get them all hyped up. One night they were in a smaller club in Germany and John was getting all hyped up to get the crowd all hyped up, this was one of their first shows on their tour, in the middle of one of their songs john started yelling “Heil Hitler” and that got them going the crowed cheered for two encores after that show they became a hit in Germany after these shows.
Another show they played in Germany on a different tour later on, they had just finished their first set and were on break, John randomly disappeared from the group at one point and they all walked back on stage and John was still nowhere to be found. Right before they started their second set he runs out with a toilet seat around his neck the crowd went wild, John being John didnt take it off for the rest of the show he had the crowd chanting their name even though they couldn't say “ the Beatles” he had them saying “Da Peedles” and thats what they were known as in Germany after that.

                                                         Career
Johns career was all about his music from the day he started playing his first guitar and the day he sadly sang his last tune music was always his calling no matter what anyone said John always wanted to have a music career. He started young writing and playing his songs, once the Beatles started when it was John, Paul and Pete, John and Paul always wrote duets together that's where most of their songs came from. He always used his childhood memories or stories his family had
told him to write his songs. Once the Beatles that we all know today became a band (John, Paul, George and Ringo) John still wrote most of the songs with Paul there was always something new for John to write about he always had the most creative ideas. John had a very successful career even after the band broke up he went on his own and made his own music with his wife, his solo career lasted up until the day he was killed.

 Reason for Fame
The Beatles was Johns main reason for fame. Even though he started out as just an average neighborhood kid playing in a band he became one of the biggest bands in the whole world. Before he was even 10 he knew he wanted to go somewhere with his music. Once the Beatles had started they were only noticeable in Europe not so much in the US yet but they became so big in England and Germany people were wanting to buy their songs little did they know these boys were only a small town band, eventually they talked to a man who owned a record store and he produces their records they flew off the shelfs! At that time though they weren't all old enough to get into clubs and such so they had only captured the younger audience which had been a hit but not long after they captured the older generation as well as the world.

                             Later life and Death
John didn't have much of a later life but the time that he did have he spent it with his wife and writing his own music along with writing music with his wife, he did go on to have a solo contract and produced his own songs for a long time after the Beatles broke up.
December 8th John was walking out to meet a limo to take him and his wife to their Dakota group. On the way he met a man passing by on the street Mark David Chapman, who was obsessed with Lennon and the Beatles, before Lennon got into the limo Chapman had stopped him and asked for a picture and an autograph in his book “Double Fantasy”, he told Lennon about how much of a fan he
was and how excited his family would be to see he met him. Later that night, it was about 11 pm, Lennon heard someone call his name as he went to turn gunshots fired and Chapman stood holding a gun. Johns wife Yoko cried out in pain watching her husband fall to the ground a by passer looked at Chapman and asked if he knew what he just did and Chapman simply looked at him and said “Yes i just killed John Lennon.” and walked away into a hallway and kept on reading his book. The bystander called the police and Chapman was arrested that night. Sadly as for John he was gone. And that was the day we lost the one and only John Winston Lennon.

Old Nickelodeon Shows

Who remembers the good old shows on Nickelodeon? If you’re a 90’s baby I know if you heard “move it football head!” you would recognize that it would be Helga from Hey Arnold. There’s always those few little things you remember no matter how old you get, yes you know every once in awhile you get flashbacks of the shows you used to watch as a kid. Remember Cat Dog, Hey Arnold, Ren and Stimpy, All That, Keenan and Kel, the Amanda Show, SpongeBob, Rocket Power, Slime Time, Roccos Modern Life, Rugrats, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Angry Beavers, Doug, Figure it Out, and the Wild Thornberry’s. If you brought up any of the shows I’ve listed I’m almost positive anyone born in the 90s would know most of them.
Rugrats was the first Nicktoon to premiere on Nickelodeon on 8/11/91. Doug, Ren and Stimpy and the Wild Thornberry’s also premiered on the same night. Through out its time on the air Rugrats gained 20 awards and held the most episodes for one show until Spongebob hit its 173 episode in 2012. Looking back on those shows you will always remember the trouble the babies in Rugrats got into or the funny things the monkey said in the wild Thornberry’s. Rocket Power! You know you always wished you had a cool hand shake like Reggie, Otto, Twister and Sam did or you called someone a “Shoe Be” if anyone ever wore their sandals with socks, the show aired on August 16, 1999 it stayed on until July 30, 2004 with their very last episode called “The Big Day”.What about Rocco? From Rocco’s Modern life! Even though we never knew exactly what he was if he was a dog or small kangaroo it was always a fun show to watch, going back now and seeing the show you will find a lot of adult humor, the show didn’t last more than a few seasons before they stopped playing it. Who remembers being scared of the Mayan Temple Guards in Legends of the Hidden Temple one of the most popular children’s game show contests, it aired on September 11, 1993, and sadly didn’t last very long it stopped playing in 1995. Dancing lobsters?! Crazy skits about inflatable air bags you can wear like back packs? Skits about meatloaf! Must be the Amanda Show starring Amanda Bynes, her show was a child’s version of SNL, the show aired in 1999 and randomly stopped in 2002, it could have possibly been because half of her cast got their own show which created Drake and Josh in that same year. Dagget and Norbert Beaver? I bet you remember those names! Those crazy beavers that lived in their den on a river and never failed to get in some sort of trouble it was on Nickelodeon in America for awhile then went off air and came back on in Canada not too long after. Darwin? The only monkey that was just as smart as Einstein and was well dressed? Yes that’s the same one from the Wild Thornberry’s he always had something smart to say and always tried to help Eliza out but she never listened and he always had to come to the rescue, the show aired in 1998 and lasted until 2004 when the show was cancelled. That’s brand spanking new! Hey that’s Doug! How could you forget Doug Funnie the awkward teen age boy who never seemed to catch a break with anything he ever did. Doug was also one of the first shows to air on August 11 1991 and ended in the beginning of 1994 but it also came back on ABC for the children’s time on Saturday mornings. Who doesn’t love orange soda! I know Keenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell do! Who didn’t love all the crazy times they had together. They always got in some sort of trouble but never failed to work their way out of it. The show aired in 1996 and was off air in 2000.
These were the good old shows that no matter how old we get we will always remember them, but like any other generation were always going to say our childhood shows were the best and were always going to say that we had the best childhood but the generation before us is going to say that I Love Lucy and Leave it to Beaver are the best shows around but we all have our own opinions and our good old shows will always be our good old shows just as their good old shows will be there’s
