Old Nickelodeon Shows

Who remembers the good old shows on Nickelodeon? If you’re a 90’s baby I know if you heard “move it football head!” you would recognize that it would be Helga from Hey Arnold. There’s always those few little things you remember no matter how old you get, yes you know every once in awhile you get flashbacks of the shows you used to watch as a kid. Remember Cat Dog, Hey Arnold, Ren and Stimpy, All That, Keenan and Kel, the Amanda Show, SpongeBob, Rocket Power, Slime Time, Roccos Modern Life, Rugrats, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Angry Beavers, Doug, Figure it Out, and the Wild Thornberry’s. If you brought up any of the shows I’ve listed I’m almost positive anyone born in the 90s would know most of them.
Rugrats was the first Nicktoon to premiere on Nickelodeon on 8/11/91. Doug, Ren and Stimpy and the Wild Thornberry’s also premiered on the same night. Through out its time on the air Rugrats gained 20 awards and held the most episodes for one show until Spongebob hit its 173 episode in 2012. Looking back on those shows you will always remember the trouble the babies in Rugrats got into or the funny things the monkey said in the wild Thornberry’s. Rocket Power! You know you always wished you had a cool hand shake like Reggie, Otto, Twister and Sam did or you called someone a “Shoe Be” if anyone ever wore their sandals with socks, the show aired on August 16, 1999 it stayed on until July 30, 2004 with their very last episode called “The Big Day”.What about Rocco? From Rocco’s Modern life! Even though we never knew exactly what he was if he was a dog or small kangaroo it was always a fun show to watch, going back now and seeing the show you will find a lot of adult humor, the show didn’t last more than a few seasons before they stopped playing it. Who remembers being scared of the Mayan Temple Guards in Legends of the Hidden Temple one of the most popular children’s game show contests, it aired on September 11, 1993, and sadly didn’t last very long it stopped playing in 1995. Dancing lobsters?! Crazy skits about inflatable air bags you can wear like back packs? Skits about meatloaf! Must be the Amanda Show starring Amanda Bynes, her show was a child’s version of SNL, the show aired in 1999 and randomly stopped in 2002, it could have possibly been because half of her cast got their own show which created Drake and Josh in that same year. Dagget and Norbert Beaver? I bet you remember those names! Those crazy beavers that lived in their den on a river and never failed to get in some sort of trouble it was on Nickelodeon in America for awhile then went off air and came back on in Canada not too long after. Darwin? The only monkey that was just as smart as Einstein and was well dressed? Yes that’s the same one from the Wild Thornberry’s he always had something smart to say and always tried to help Eliza out but she never listened and he always had to come to the rescue, the show aired in 1998 and lasted until 2004 when the show was cancelled. That’s brand spanking new! Hey that’s Doug! How could you forget Doug Funnie the awkward teen age boy who never seemed to catch a break with anything he ever did. Doug was also one of the first shows to air on August 11 1991 and ended in the beginning of 1994 but it also came back on ABC for the children’s time on Saturday mornings. Who doesn’t love orange soda! I know Keenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell do! Who didn’t love all the crazy times they had together. They always got in some sort of trouble but never failed to work their way out of it. The show aired in 1996 and was off air in 2000.
These were the good old shows that no matter how old we get we will always remember them, but like any other generation were always going to say our childhood shows were the best and were always going to say that we had the best childhood but the generation before us is going to say that I Love Lucy and Leave it to Beaver are the best shows around but we all have our own opinions and our good old shows will always be our good old shows just as their good old shows will be there’s
